As a **General Ledger Lead** at FlyAkeed, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. You will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements. Your meticulous attention to detail, strong accounting skills, and commitment to financial integrity will contribute to the overall financial health and success of the company.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate and complete financial data.
- Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances, promptly addressing issues as they arise.
- Facilitate the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial activities are properly documented and accounted for.
- Perform necessary accruals and adjustments to align financial statements with actual results.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide insights for decision-making.
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits.
- Provide documentation and explanations as required during audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
