**Project Description**

**Position Summary**

Bechtel is seeking a Sustainability Manager for The New Murabba Project. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and integration of all aspects of sustainability in delivery of the Project. The role will involve leading the creation and implementation of sustainability strategies and the assurance of designs and construction so that the Client’s sustainability policies are incorporated into the designs and implemented during the delivery phases. You will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of industry professionals across the globe to cover the entire project life cycle from master planning, detailed design, procurement, construction, into startup and commissioning, sharing your experience and know-how with the project team. In this role, you will support the Customer with necessary additional sustainability services as required to be performed based on the direction of Programme Director.

This role is based in Riyadh, KSA. It will report to the Technical/Programme Director.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Advise and provide strategic thinking to the Client on Sustainability related decision making.
- Integration and delivery of sustainability requirements in all activities including project management, trainings, performance management and communications.
- Develop a RACI for effective stakeholder engagement and interface with other PMC at NMDC.
- Integration of sustainability requirements into all aspects of project development and delivery including contracts and procurement (consultants, contractors, services, materials).
- Oversee the implementation of Sustainability Initiatives and 3rd Party Rating System requirements during design and construction stages.
- Manage and oversee reporting, review, and improvement of sustainability performance across the project delivery in compliance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets.
- Oversee the integration of carbon levers across design, and construction.
- Proactively engage with Sustainability Institutions and Industry experts to provide solutions that will benefit the project.
- Develop strategies to negotiate with Sustainability Institutions to adapt the new scenarios where necessary.
- Establish a working relation with NMDC and PMC teams, BCG, Design Consultants, Construction Contractors, RCRC, and local agencies.
- Conduct sustainability awareness workshops for internal PMC team members.
- Mentor Sustainability professionals to improve their workplace engagement and to obtain credentials & career advancement.

**Skills and Qualifications**

**Basic Qualifications**
- A recognized degree in engineering or architecture with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience with emphasis in sustainability preferred.
- Experience in the development and implementation of Sustainability strategies and plans during design and delivery stages of infrastructure projects of significant size and complexity.
- Experience of integrating decarbonization levers and sustainable design rating system certification requirements to infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of smart city, climate change, circularity principles and resilient infrastructure.

**Skills**
- Strong influencing skills to manage and motivate teams to follow sustainability requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage client expectations and deliver within agreed parameters.
- Experience with managing environmental and sustainability requirements in subcontracts; defining the contractor/subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
