**Job Description Summary**: GE Grid Solutions is hiring a Sales & Proposal Manager accountable for the Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) order intake, margin and cash within Middle East and Africa (MEA) Region. The role will drive customer relationship and commercial strategy for GIS in the region as customer facing staff responsible for sales and winning business jobs with autonomy and covered by well-defined commercial policies and review of end results.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Build customer intimacy and anticipate projects from early opportunity detection stage
- Formulates and executes proposal strategy and sales agreements within the responsible region/market. Formulates deal structure, pricing, proposal development and customer negotiations. Identifies new opportunities with functional partners for new products sales and business growth.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of own and others sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups and uses analytical thinking and commercial experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware and follows closely the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems inline with company sales processes. Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking to arrive at decisions.
- This sales job requires strong interpersonal skills. Acts as a technical and commercial resource for colleagues and customers.

**Required Qualifications**
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Experience in an industrial environment preferably in high/medium voltage products or systems in a customer facing role.
- Familiarity with MEA End Users and / or EPC contractors.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Ability to adopt to a multi-language and multi-cultural environment

**Desired Characteristics**
- Have experience in dealing with customers, both technically and commercially at all levels within a business
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Knowledge and experience in Electrical Transmission systems and High Voltage components will be a plus.
- Fluency in English, Arabic and any other language will be an asset.
