**Responsibilities**:
**Guest Service**:
Greet customers, provide them with menus, and offer recommendations.
Take orders accurately and promptly, ensuring any special requests are noted.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with guests.
Address customer inquiries and concerns, resolving issues in a timely manner.
**Team Leadership**:
Supervise and train the waitstaff, ensuring they adhere to service standards.
Assign tables and responsibilities to waitstaff to ensure efficient service.
Provide guidance and support to new team members during their onboarding.
**Order Coordination**:
Liaise with the kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Monitor the quality of food and presentation before it is served to customers.
Oversee the assembly of trays and serving carts, if applicable.
**Table Management**:
Maintain a clean and organized dining area, ensuring tables are properly set.
Monitor table turnover and allocate seating to optimize capacity and service.
Ensure proper table numbering and reservations are managed accurately.
**Upselling and Menu Knowledge**:
Possess an in-depth understanding of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.
Offer suggestions and upsell items to enhance the dining experience for customers.
Stay informed about daily specials and any menu changes.
**Billing and Payments**:
Present bills accurately and efficiently to customers.
Process payments using the restaurant's POS system, handling cash and cards securely.
Address any discrepancies or issues related to payments.
**Service Standards**:
Uphold high service standards and contribute to a positive dining atmosphere.
Ensure that the waitstaff maintains cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and food handling practices.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience as a Waiter or Captain Waiter in a similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage a team effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and billing.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of various cuisines and wine pairings (if applicable).
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and technology.
