Supervisor, Laundry

Supervises the laundry staff and monitor’s all laundry processes.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1.Plans and schedules the activities of personnel in various stages of laundering, finishing and distributing operations.

2.Directs and assists workers to segregate laundry according to volume, degree of staining or soiling, and types of articles prior to laundering.

3.Writes reports and keeps necessary records, maintains inventories of supplies and orders replacement supplies if needed.

4.Supervises the operation of various machines used in laundering and finishing articles.

5.Advises employees of correct procedures and washing cycles to be used for different types of articles.

6.Responsible for proper running of equipment’s and the amounts of chemicals. Ensures that established infection control and universal precaution practices are followed in the Laundry Operations as some tasks may involve exposure to blood/body fluids.

7.Knowledges of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines for universal precautions, infection control and knowledgeable about Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for chemicals in use in all laundry areas.

8.Assists in the review, revision, and implementation of laundry policies and procedures.

9.Maintains cleanliness of machines, laundry area, patients’ area and linen carts store rooms.

10.Inspects articles at various stages of laundering and finishing for cleanliness and acceptable standard of work, inspects Eyewash station weekly and logs it.

11.Supervises the sorting, folding and stacking of finished laundry.

12.Trains, monitors and evaluates all laundry staff, volunteers, and service workers. Recommends discipline and implements appropriate procedures, to improve performance.

13.Gives guidance on the basis of facts to resolve common issues or problems when the information is not sensitive in nature or the individuals or groups are working toward mutual goals and have basically cooperative attitudes.

14.Aware of KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) Infection Control policies and procedures sorting the soiled linen and ensures compliance with those policies and procedures.

15.Monitors and supervises on a daily basis the attendance, punctuality of subordinates.

**Education**:
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree/ Diploma in Business, Hospital Administration, Environmental Health or any related discipline is required.

**Experience Required**:
One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree or three (3) years with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:

- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Certified Laundry and Linen Management (CLLM) from Association for Linen Management (ALM) including two (2) years of experience.
