Supervisor, Laundry

Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in laundering and finishing solid linens, garments, drapes, bed covers, and other hospital articles and ensures the environment is clean.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Plans and schedules the activities of personnel in various stages of laundering, finishing and distribution operations.

2. Directs and assists workers to segregate laundry according to volume, degree of staining or soiling, and types of articles prior to laundering.

3. Supervises the operation of various machines used in laundering and finishing articles.

4. Assists in the review, revision, and implementation of laundry policies and procedures.

5. Advises employees of correct procedures and washing cycles to be used for different types of articles.

6. Is knowledgeable about MSDS for chemicals in use in all laundry areas.

7. Inspects articles at various stages of laundering and finishing for cleanliness and acceptable standard of work.

8. Supervises the sorting, folding and stacking of finished laundry.

9. Assists in establishing and maintaining par levels in user units.

10. Trains new workers on the use of supplies and equipment by demonstration and explains the operating techniques as well as assists in actual operation.

11. Evaluates employee's performance, counsels employees when necessary and takes appropriate remedial action when indicated.

12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

13. Follows all Hospital policies and procedures.

14. Participates in self and others educational training and development as applicable.

**Education**:
High school education required.

**Experience Required**:
Three (3) years related experience and one (1) year in a supervisory position.

Has working knowledge in MS office software (MS word, Excel), Has staff supervisory skills.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
Ability to speak English and Arabic.
