**Aircraft Armament Technician**

**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the recovery of aircraft and associated hydraulic/mechanical components within the Hawk Accessory Repair / Pneudraulic Shop in order to meet the operational training requirements and display team flying of the RSAF at King Faisal Air (KFAB).

Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, it’s components and resource SQEP levels.***

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**Work Direction**:
In this role the job holder will report to the following:

- RSAF Policies and procedures
- M&CA Mandates
- Base Maintenance Manager

**Decision-Making Authority**:
The job holder may be required to make decisions on the following:

- Aircraft fault identification, debrief and rectification
- Maintaining competency and ensuring SQEP levels are within the mandated limits
- Scheduling of personal time to maintain the operational requirement

**Planning / Organising**:
The Job Holder will undertake the following activities as a minimum:

- Must be a quality minded, mature, individual that adopts a positive and proactive approach to aircraft maintenance and support issues
- Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels
- Must be able to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce
- Must be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues
- Must hold a current driving licence UK or KSA
- They will be responsible for providing support to the Approved Maintenance Organsation (AMO) to ensure delivery of serviceable aircraft to TAGF in order to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments
- They shall be responsible for themselves and their peers, including training technicians and maintaining a strong safety culture whilst fault finding, repairing and delivering serviceable assets to maintain the customers daily flying programme.
- The management of repairable hydraulic components into the supply repair channel, ensuring efficient and effective supply discipline.
- Ensure the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system.

In order to support Vision 2030 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet BAE Systems Saudisation targets, all personnel shall utilise their knowledge and skills and act as a leader and mentor in the training and education of trainees in a multicultural environment.***

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**_ Essential_**
- A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification to M&CA OR Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
- Must have at extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on the same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP)
- Relevant equipment specific training.
