KAPSARC is an advisory think tank within global energy economics and sustainability providing advisory services to entities and authorities in the Saudi energy sector to advance Saudi Arabiaʼs energy sector and inform global policies through evidence-based advice and applied research.

**Responsibilities**

**Strategy and Plans**
- In conjunction with the President, formulate and direct the implementation of the KAPSARC's strategy in line with vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
- Ensure that the overall business strategy is translated into annual operational business plans for the Knowledge and Analysis function and the performance is monitored to ensure business plans are in line with the overall strategy.

**Budgeting**
- Direct the preparation and consolidation of the functional budget for the Knowledge and Analysis function and monitor the spend to ensure the budget is well utilized as per the plan.

**People Management**
- Provide overall direction for the effective achievement of objectives through effective leadership by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, and mentoring and developing team to maximize performance and learning.

**Performance Management**
- Ensure proper cascading and implementation of the functional objectives and implement monitoring mechanisms to assess progress and promote a performance driven culture.

**Business Development**
- Partner with senior stakeholders from the Energy sector to understand their strategic needs, convincing key decision makers about the strategic impact and ROI of the proposed solution, in order to promote KAPSARC’s functional offerings and strengthening its value proposition in the Energy market.
- Collaborate with the Consulting and Comms and PR team to create relevant promotional material to introduce offerings to stakeholders and gather their feedback in order to build awareness and find potential clients.

**Research Portfolio**
- Oversee the alignment of KAPSARC’s research portfolio with the energy sector needs to ensure that KAPSARC is focusing its efforts on the right topics for its stakeholders, in the short, medium, and long-term.
- Set qualitative and quantitative impact measurements to help understand what contributes to the success of KAPSARC’s research portfolio.

**Solutions Productization**
- Provide the overall direction to productize KAPSARC’s solutions, leveraging thought leadership on the energy market trends, business needs, and practical implications on existing and new products, in order to strengthen and promote the value proposition of KAPSARC’s products.
- Partner with key stakeholders and entities to ensure that solutions productized are always protected as KAPSARC´s proprietary content.

**Requests Management**
- Partner with the Consulting team to supervise the scoping of the requests by defining and understanding the requirements, timelines, technical requirements and financial implications etc., in order to ensure the requests can be further analyzed and reviewed.
- Collaborate with the Consulting team to prioritize the requests based on the agreed impact and feasibility criteria (e.g., availability of experts, complexity of the request, engagement length, budget) to ensure that the requests are adequately classified, responded to, and effectively managed according to approved SLAs.

**Research Project Management**
- Advise the Project Review Committee by providing recommendations on research projects (whether approving, reviewing or sunsetting), to ensure that the portfolio of research projects is aligned with KAPSARC’s goals and research priorities.

**Policymaking**
- Provide thought leadership and insights into the impact of non-economic, geopolitical, geospatial, and socio-political phenomena on energy markets, and decision-making processes that shape energy policy, to study global, regional, and local energy-related policy questions that impact KAPSARC’s stakeholders.

**Knowledge Management**
- Ensure that proper knowledge management processes are in place and foster the culture of sharing knowledge and collaboration across all members to embrace cross-functional and multidisciplinary work where projects cut across programs and advisory.

**Partnership/Relationship Management**
- Manage the partnerships with the energy sector stakeholders and strategic partners to ensure the sustainability of long-term partnerships and the achievement of mutual business benefits.

**Innovation and Continuous Improvement**
- Lead the management of change through continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices considering global standards and changes in the business environment.
- Direct the knowledge and analysis team to anticipate the needs of the Saudi energy ecosystem through an idea generation process that ensures rigor and quality in all functional offerings.
