Position Summary

To support the development of cybersecurity architecture by understanding KAPSARC’s cybersecurity requirements; and execute the cybersecurity operations by analysis of threats, events and actors and assessing vulnerabilities, in order to provide situational awareness of local and international threats impacting relevant environments and support the development of incident management approaches.

Major Accountabilities

Cybersecurity Architecture
- Assess KAPSARC’s IT systems and networks to highlight cybersecurity gaps and facilitate the identification of KAPSARC’s cybersecurity requirements.
- Perform the architecture related improvements for networks, systems and solutions, to ensure that security requirements necessary to protect the organization’s business are adequately addressed in all aspects of the cybersecurity architecture.

Threat Intelligence
- Gather evidence across multiple operating systems environment and conduct trend analysis and correlations to provide recommendations, to ensure attribution through identified indicators of compromise and behaviors associated with targeted behavior.
- Monitor open-source websites for hostile content directed towards KAPSARC and/or the Kingdom, and report validated threat activities, in order to provide timely and effective responses to threats.

Vulnerability Assessment and Management
- Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and thorough security risk assessments based on threats and vulnerabilities, to ensure reporting potential risk events appropriately, based on the severity of the risk.
- Implement cybersecurity defense tools and processes in order to perform technical (evaluation of technology) and non-technical (evaluation of people and operations) risk and vulnerability assessments of relevant technology focus areas.

Incident Management
- Collect the required information and resources about incidents and provide containment, eradication, and recovery recommendations, in order to effectively respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Handle and analyze digital evidence and network logs by utilizing the necessary tools, in order to extract forensics artifacts, crave deleted files, and activity timelines and indicators.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Provide inputs to the design and implement policies, systems, and procedure so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting
- Analyze the information and prepare reports and dashboards in a timely and accurate manner to meet the requirements, policies, and quality standards.

Related Assignments
- Perform any other duties which the organization may require to be carried out.

Qualifications and Experience

Recommended Qualifications and Years of Experience
- Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or any other related field with 6-9 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity environments or,
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or any other related field with 4-7 years of experience.
- Professional certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) would be preferable.
