Periodic and dynamic update of the retail banking risk assessments with an initial focus on the BSF retail branches network (all regions)
- Evaluation of the risks, monitoring of related indicators, and specific first and second level of control activities with the perspective domains to enhance controls (including administering control testing)
- Contribute in reviewing bank policies & procedures, highlighting operational risks, and corrective actions to enhance controls and advise on risk mitigation.
- To follow up with business lines and support functions to monitor the progress of the set-up/implementation of action plans.
- Review and understand the Retail Banking business processes (especially Branch related) within the bank to understand where key risks can possible prevail. Utilize the standard risk library and operational incidents to enhance the control setup.
- Determine the applicable risks and internal controls in place (process flow chart review), including the review of applicable evidence in this regard, as part of Control Testing. Propose and discuss enhancements to the superiors where applicable.
- Collection, analysis, closure, reconciliation and back-testing of operational risk related data and the mapping of these to the dynamic risk profiles.
- Basic to moderate analytical skills are required as well as banking background to perform operational risk analysis from a business process flow and functional perspective. Carry out data mining, statistical and functional analysis pertaining to the data collected with regard to key operational risk tools as well as assessments. These can include KRI trend analysis, loss correlation reports and specific data from the business process flows.
- Contribute to the management of the risk and control assessment in line with the current procedure, taking related components such as external loss data, incidents, KRIs and process knowledge into account. This includes first and second level of control activities.
- Bespoke responsibilities: Participation in the quarterly branch managers’ meetings (virtual / physical involving domestic travel), branch visits, spot testing, training branch staff for responsibilities towards ORM and assisting in uplifting the bank-wide risk management culture

- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Financial Services, Accounting or Economics
- 3-4 years of banking experience in control entity, Business, Audit, or Compliance
- Able to present a theme in writing in an ordered, intelligible manner with well-structured and relevant details.
- Able to communicate in a clear and precise manner and able to write in sound business language, taking into account the needs and level of understanding of the anticipated recipients.
- Able to read and comprehend and suggest enhancements on documentations including policies and procedures.
- Has a perspective of critical thinking/scientific method or practical reasoning.
- Able to define the most appropriate internal and external data/information source and manage information accordingly.
- Have knowledge of the functionality of common software packages (Microsoft Office) to enable streamlining of tasks.
- Knows when to use visual aids (graphs, diagrams etc.) within the report/letter to illustrate key points.
- Good command of English and preferably Arabic language.
