The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Middle East & Africa Tax Specialist (M/F/*), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Reporting to the EMEA Tax Leader, you will make an impact by:

- Direct Tax_
- **_ Collecting, analyzing and summarizing information to be provided to an outside compliance provider for income tax filings._**:

- **_ Assist the EMEA Leader with corporate income tax compliance, planning and advisory in the Middle East & Africa_**:

- _ Support any governmental and company-related corporate income tax audits that arise in the Middle East & Africa_
- _ Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating proposed and newly enacted tax laws and regulations, and relevant case law_
- _ Supporting the EMEA Leader in identifying ways to optimize direct tax processes_
- _ Respond to questions and issues from business units and functional groups_
- _ Teaming across functions to ensure compliance with local legislation. _
- Indirect Tax _
- _Assisting the EMEA Tax Leader in managing and coo_rdinating indirect tax advisory, planning and audit activities across the Middle East & Africa_
- _ Facilitating the selection of external service providers_ to support projects as needed_
- _ Partnering with the Indirect Tax Compliance Team on indirect tax audits. Coordinate VAT audit strategy, appeals and litigation with any other impacted internal stakeholders. _
- _Conducting legal research and answer questions and challenges raised by Tax Authorities. Review written responses and documents provided to Tax Authorities and/or Tax Courts._
- _ Teaming with the Trade Compliance team to understand Import VAT treatment _
- _Understand country business scenarios and the indirect tax impact of same, including required system configurations _
- General _
- _Reviewing and analyzing third party and intercompany transactions and contracts, both international and domestic to evaluate the direct and indirect tax impact, advise management and provide solutions in order to optimize cash flows_
- _ Management of WHT tax payment and filings _
- _Coordination of property tax payment and filings where relevant_

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

- _ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Tax or Finance (completed and verified prior to start)_
- _ Experience with Direct Tax within Saudi Arabia and/or the UAE. Experience with Indirect Tax a strong advantage._
- _ Ability to analyze complex fact patterns and transactions, and identify tax issues_
- Fluency in English and Arabic

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

- _ Strong interpersonal skills_
- _ Good business and financial acumen._
- _ Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP for invoice processing and high level financial data analysis_

1.) On-Site - Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

2.) Remote

Travel: May include up to 5% International Travel
