Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently looking for a **Design Supervisor** who plans and coordinates multidisciplinary engineering design work performed by contractors or by subordinate professional and technical support staff. Leads a functional area comprised of large groups of technical staff or smaller groups of specialist staff responsible for complex technical tasks. Provides consultative direction to other functional areas and across the organization. Responsible for project coordination, supervision, and administration of two or more design disciplines or functions by contractors or by own staff. Recognized as an authority in a discipline/field. Plans and conducts applied design and development work in an engineering specialty. Investigates and advises on unusual and difficult problems. The Design Supervisor leads by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company’s values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leads a design team, giving clear technical direction. Sets achievable goals and targets, checks and verifies, with corrective action taken when required.
- Uses coaching methods and a consultative style to guide others with problem solving and technical queries. Extends the role to the wider disciplines taking responsibility for the design.
- Integration of operations related in nature (multi-discipline design team) and requirement for coordination with associated functions/teams/departments eg engineering, CAD, document control
- Ensure designs are produced in accordance with project, discipline, statutory regulations, good practice and procedural requirements and ensure completion within required man hours and budget.
- Assures designs are ready for review and comments are correctly resolved. Actively engages in the maintenance of P&IDs.
- Clear and timely communication regarding design change issues.
- Liaison, support and timely transfer of information between design disciplines.
- Input to capital estimates including quantity calculations.
- Respond to technical queries
- Act as checker for other designers
- Contribute to site installation and commissioning
- Analyse feedback from fabricators and construction personnel to improve performance
- Induction and supervision of designers in the use of Wood standards and procedures to ensure project design requirements are followed.
- May personally undertakes more complex design tasks eg revision, coordination, and elaboration of the 3D Model Provide technical support through identification of deficiencies, improvement changes and assist with the update of established standards and procedures.
- Undertake audits/investigations for compliance to procedures, standards, and specifications for drawing production and for improving the efficiency of the system and produce well-structured reports.
- Support proposals activities including scope evaluation, preparing execution plans and estimating man-hours, as necessary and preparation of presentations to prospective clients.
- Provide developmental guidance and mentoring of more junior members of the group including performance reviews.
- In smaller design teams where there are not dedicated heads of discipline, the Design Supervisor may also carry out many of the responsibilities of head of discipline - design

Skills / Qualifications:

- Minimum 25 years of experience in Instrumentation and Control Design in Oil & Gas Project especially in GCC region
- Membership of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
- Saudi Aramco Codes and standards with excellent safety awareness
- Proficient in CAD design 2D / 3D (Micro station, AutoCAD, PSDS, PDS)
- Knowledge of all types of high, medium and low voltage electrical equipment
- Knowledge of control systems and instrumentation design
- Knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE)
- Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and multitasking ability
- Multidisciplinary design knowledge
- Strong computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
- On-site construction supervision and commissioning support is a plus
