Operations Manager

Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and
labor allocation for day to day operation.
- Ensures supplies/spare parts are ordered for each job.
- Assist with quoting, project management, material purchasing and quality checks.
- Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with
the General Manager.
- Report manpower overruns or shortfalls.
- Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested.
- Responds to client request for updates on the status of their vehicle and keep
communicating channels open to ensure information is accurate.
- Identify client’s needs and explain/demonstrate services to them, which may have
involved technical explanations on how to fix their vehicles.
- Receive and review feedback from customers and follow up to ensure customer
satisfaction.
- Work with the General Manager to investigate customer complaints and concerns and
suggest appropriate solution. Discuss with team to identify appropriate course of action.
- Develop and implement system record, file and store information pertaining to client
enquiries.
- Identify staff that requires training and implement training opportunities to ensure their
skills are improved.
- Work with apprentices and semi-skilled staff to role model appropriate technical skills.
- Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensure human
resources are informed of trends in performance.
- Assist the Workshop Supervisors, Salesman in protecting and securing all company
assets, including store cash.
- Assist the Workshop Supervisors in ensuring proper staffing coverage on a daily basis.
- Assist with all the business functions and day-to-day operation activities.
- Assist with Spare Parts Salesman and maintain the checkout area to maximize sales.
- Inventory supplies and complete restock of supplies on hand.
- Collaborate with all corporate functions to ensure program success (HR, Payroll, Finance,
Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, etc.).
- Provide support to the customer to assure customers satisfaction.
- Motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline staff.
- Ensure load quality, timelines, and work efficiency goals are met.
- Manage the development, tracking and reporting of monthly and annual KPIs.
- Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Plan, direct, control, and monitor the Operations department budget(s).
- Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
