_**A RELOCATION opportunity to the UNITED KINGDOM has arisen for an HCPC UK REGISTERED BAND 6 SPECIALIST Speech and Language Therapist. **_

**EDUCATION / QUALIFCATIONS**:

- A RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy), recognised degree or a postgraduate Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
- **HCPC UK registration is ESSENTIAL.**
- Specialist courses to have been completed - mainly, Advanced Dysphagia or Tracheostomy management - copies required.
- Competency in DYSPHAGIA
- Be willing to participate in relevant training to develop the necessary skills required to carry out duties, including extended role activities.
- Portfolio of CPD (Continuous Professional Development), which is in line with the regulatory body standards.

**EXPERIENCE**:
**A minimum of 5 years clinical experience - Post basic qualification.**
- Clinical experience of working with children, young people, or adults with feeding / swallowing issues
- Experience in any one or a combination of the following
- (a) Neuro rehabilitation with Adults or Paediatrics
- (b) Children or adults with complex medical needs.
- Competent and experienced in managing Children and / or adults with Dysphagia.
- Competent and experienced in managing Children and / or adults with tracheostomies - **not essential but desirable.**

**Required Skills, Abilities and Knowledge**:
Knowledge of Dysphagia assessment and management.

Knowledge of tracheostomy impact on speaking: secretions and swallowing.

Knowledge of management of tracheostomy care and weaning.

Ability to meet the physical demands of a speech and language therapy.

Advanced verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including communicating complex or potentially distressing information to parents/carers and managing conflict when appropriate.

Clinical assessment and intervention skills relevant to children and / or adult's with neuro-disability.

Knowledge of current research, clinical audit, and service evaluation methods.
- Clinical assessment and intervention skills relevant to children and/or adults’ - people with neuro-disability.
- Clinical reasoning skills in predictable situations, analysing a variety of evidence and presenting this in a relevant format e.g., report, presentation.
- **Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and young people with complex disabilities.**

Ability to cope working in a demanding environment.

**YOUR JOB PURPOSE**:_The role of the _**Specialist Speech and Language Therapist**_ _is to provide a high quality, evidence-based speech, and language therapy across the organisation, which promotes the participation, function and safe care of children and young people accessing The Children’s Trust._
- _Your aim is to deliver child and family focused, goal led interventions supporting those with speech, language, and communication needs, and to those with DYSPHAGIA needs._
- You will also support our Multidisciplinary Team, delivering training across our services, to support staff working with children and young people with DYSPHAGIA._

This is a Specialist Band 6 opportunity, and the annual salary would be between £41,923 - £49,497 per annum, pro rata (dependent on experience and inclusive of outer London weighting) -(this will be discussed in more detail at interview stage).

**This role will be offered with a Certificate of Sponsorship - valid for 3 years.**

**You will work 37.5 hours per week.**

**Hours are 8am - 4pm and 8.30am - 4.30pm.**

**Accommodation on site is available for up to 1 year.**
