About the Role

As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers, maximizing sales opportunities, and promoting our diverse portfolio of retail outlets, brands, and consumer and B2B services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Knowledge: Describe product features and benefits, demonstrate the use and handling of products, and educate clients on brand quality standards and specifications.
  • Customer Service: Advise customers on product ranges best suited to their needs, answer queries to help them make a decision on the purchase, and provide information on warranties, features, specifications, maintenance, and care of products.
  • Sales and Revenue: Achieve sales targets by using sales techniques, up-selling, and cross-selling, and ensure promotions and pricing are accurate and in line with company standards and policies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Compute sale prices and discounts as applicable, maintain sales records, receive and process cash, changes, and credit payments, and generate invoices and receipts.

  • Loss Prevention and Inventory Control: Adhere to loss prevention, inventory controls, and standard operating procedures of the company.
  • Store Merchandising: Provide assistance in store merchandising, product placement, and arrangement.
  • Housekeeping and Grooming: Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and grooming etiquette in the store at all times.
Self-Management:
  • Performance Goals: Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that the goals are achieved during the course of the year.
  • Professional Development: Take ownership of your own learning agenda by identifying development needs in consultation with the manager and agreeing on the individual development plan, which goes beyond just training and development.
  • Continued Education: Keep abreast of professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
