About the Job

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Operations Leader to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure services organization, you will be responsible for managing the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. You will collaborate with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop high-performing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to ensure highest levels of performance.
  • Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers, helping build and bring online new Data Centers.
  • Improve processes and procedures continuously, assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Liaise with internal teams and management groups, ensuring adherence to local Health & Safety standards in all Data Centers.
  • Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of Data Centers, utilizing those metrics to drive positive changes.
Requirements
  • An engineering degree or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience in managing DC, IT Operations, or similar roles, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 5+ years building and managing strong, successful technical teams in a similar culture, with ITIL Management Experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, consistently delivering results despite competing priorities and distractions.
  • Prior ownership of mission-critical team operation or product.
  • Security and Health & Safety awareness.
