Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preclinical Research Leader to join our team at the المعهد الوطني لأبحاث الصحة | Saudi NIH. As a key member of our research community, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the scientific direction and enhancing the infrastructure for preclinical studies.

This position requires expert knowledge in regulatory and ethical standards, as well as the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and external partners to advance preclinical research efforts. You will be responsible for leading the creation, refinement, and implementation of key guidelines for preclinical studies, ensuring they comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with the highest standards of preclinical research.
  • Providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to ensure animal houses meet all necessary standards for animal welfare, regulatory compliance, and scientific integrity in preclinical studies.
  • Leading the development and implementation of strategic plans to address critical gaps in the preclinical research landscape, including improving methodologies, enhancing infrastructure, and advancing scientific knowledge.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Serving as a subject matter expert, contributing to the development and refinement of policies, frameworks, and operational guidelines that govern preclinical research activities.
  • Mentoring local teams and researchers, ensuring that skills and knowledge are transferred effectively to enhance research productivity and long-term growth in the field.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in health sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, biomedical sciences, or a related field (Master or PhD is preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in preclinical research.
  • Strong understanding of GLP compliance, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards in preclinical studies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
