Job Overview

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining project controls and scheduling functions on a portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Control Management: Assist with the development and management of cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information.
  2. Work Breakdown Structure Development: Facilitate the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with procurement, engineering, and finance departments as needed.
  3. Data Analysis: Perform independent analysis of data stored in project management and cost control systems.
  4. Reporting and Presentations: Create presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
  5. Engineering and Construction Knowledge: Understand and apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
  6. Schedule Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
  7. Forecasting and Analysis: Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule.
  8. Change Impact Assessment: Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
  9. Schedule Status Reporting: Report schedule status to all levels of project and company management as well as to the client.
  10. Delay and Slippage Identification: Identify potential areas of delay/slippage, highlight critical events, and suggest mitigation measures/corrective actions.
  11. Progress Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and monthly reports with program analysis and recommendations.
  12. Claims Assessment: Conduct detailed assessment of claims including extension of time, disruption, etc.
  13. Client Coordination: Coordinate with the client to finalize the contractor's programs, reports, and claims.
  14. Meeting Participation: Attend various meetings, including kick-off, technical, service coordination, progress review, etc., providing valuable inputs and preparing concise and precise minutes of meetings.
  15. Critical Issue Tracking: Prepare trackers/logs to monitor critical issues during the design and construction stages of the project.
Required Skills
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or a related field.
  2. Minimum 2+ years of related work experience.
  3. Basic engineering knowledge in civil, electrical, mechanical, or a related field.
  4. Proficient PC skills, including proficiency in various project controls software (Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Desired Skills
  1. Registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
  2. Saudi Nationals only.
  3. A collegiate, team-player attitude.
