Job Description

Role Purpose:

  • Develop and prepare detailed engineering CAD drawings, including basic arrangements, layouts, and flowsheets from rough sketches or engineering design information.
  • Prepare design profile drawings for pressure and gravity networks using Civil 3D software.
  • Design and develop utilities civil 3D models at levels of detail (LOD) 300 and 400.
  • Create combined utilities drawings and collaborate with other disciplines for free clash coordination.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Effectively read and follow design engineer instructions.
  • Independently design underground wet utilities networks based on utility cross-sections, including potable and fire water networks, sanitary wastewater networks, storm drainage networks, and irrigation water networks.
  • Review combined utilities routing and identify conflicts and solutions to discuss with design engineers.
  • Responsible for fully coordinated 3D modeling of utility systems using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Adhere to authorized drafting standards to prepare design drawings with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Review rough sketches, drawings, standards, and engineering data received from engineers to ensure accurate application to design drawings.
  • Prepare pressure and gravity networks profiles using Civil 3D software.
  • Significant experience in creating civil 3D coordinated modeling and clash detection reports for all utilities, underground and aboveground.
  • Ensure drawings and designs meet internal, client, and industry standards and guidelines.
  • Communicate with colleagues and others to resolve problems as required, both verbally and in writing.
  • Responsible for producing fabrication drawings upon request to relevant standards and procedures.
  • Ensure quality of products and services is maintained and make improvements to processes where necessary.
  • Prepare design drawings within appropriate timescales and to a high level of quality.
  • Effectively read and follow operations and safety manuals.
  • Able to attend work on a regular and predictable basis.
  • Effectively understand QA/QC comments and make improvements to avoid such comments.

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification in drafting.
  • SEC (Saudi Engineering Consulate) membership is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 12 years' experience in the same field, minimum 5 years' experience in GCC countries.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Reading and understanding maps and plans relating to wet utilities networks.
  • Proficient with the latest release AutoCAD (MicroStation is an advantage).
  • Familiar with software such as (CIVIL 3D) & (Infra work and Revit- Advanced).
  • Familiar with utilities 3D modeling.
