About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team at WSP. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process for creative theme park projects, utilizing your technical expertise and management skills to drive efficiency and rigor in technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design process for theme park projects, ensuring that technical expertise and management skills are utilized to drive efficiency and rigor in technical delivery.
- Provide cross-programme coordination and technical leadership to drive excellence in health and safety, minimizing risks in the design process.
- Manage technical resources effectively, ensuring that design teams adopt and make effective use of standards and practices.
- Ensure required quality checking and approval procedures are carried out, applying and reinforcing standard designs and products across work programmes.
- Prepare Scope of Works documents for each design stage, as part of RFPs and/or contract documentation for external consultants.
- Support clients with input to production of brief documents as required.
- Contribute to design team progress and quality reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and membership of relevant professional body, such as RIBA or AIA.
- 10 years of professional experience in project design, planning, and implementation, preferably in the GCC region.
- Design management experience on creative, theming, and attraction elements on a theme park project in a PMC capacity.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to delegate and coordinate responsibilities.
- Strong conflict resolution/management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong team player with ability to balance conflicting priorities and take timely decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
