Job Description

Gulf International Bank is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of our data governance strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and guidance to the Data Governance Council, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall business objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate data governance risks, issues, and decisions to the Steering Committee and other stakeholders.
  • Program Management: Develop and implement data governance programs, including data quality, metadata management, and data sharing initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Compliance Officer, Stewardship Leads, and other officers to develop and implement data management and governance programs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate the appointment of data owners for all data domains and ensure continuous monitoring of data quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the implementation of data privacy, personal data protection, and data security measures, as mandated by the National Cyber Agency and the National Disaster Management Office.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in data governance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
