Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to join our team as a GFO Tech. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and supporting AWS deployments in non-traditional environments. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to innovate effective solutions to meet issues and problems as they arise.



Key Responsibilities



  • Build relationships with internal teams and customers to identify and address technical issues.
  • Conduct site assessments at various facilities to prepare for the onsite installation of AWS equipment.
  • Install, expand, and provision AWS infrastructure at third-party premises, data centers, and non-traditional environments.
  • Troubleshoot network installations and configurations, perform network testing, break/fix, and decommissioning, and solve complex problems.
  • Identify and implement strategies to prevent support issues and enhance the customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively in English, Hindi, and regional languages to conduct day-to-day business with internal teams and external customers.
  • Travel up to 50% on average, domestically and internationally, to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment.
  • Maintain physical ability to push and pull heavy objects into position, regularly lift up to 18kg, and participate in team lifts of 30kg.
  • Lead or participate in efforts to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools that improve operational efficiencies.
  • May lead larger projects that require cross-functional alignment and support, including large-DC installations, global-reaching business initiatives, and development of mechanisms to support growth while ensuring compliance with global group standards.
  • Work at height to maintain AWS infrastructure equipment while adhering to AWS health and safety guidelines.
  • Passion for technology and desire to excel in the role every day.


Basic Qualifications



  • 4+ years of experience in data center operations or a similar technical environment.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data center equipment and rack installation.
  • BASIC knowledge of Linux servers, networking fundamentals (Layer 1/Layer 2), and TCP/IP.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a program management capacity and/or leading large-scale complex projects.
  • English, Hindi, and regional language proficiency required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Degree in a technical field or 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with proven ability to manage and effectively communicate expectations to clients.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex IT problems and identify root causes.
  • Knowledge of power, cooling, cabling, networking hardware, inventory management, and automation.
  • Proficiency in network operating systems (Cisco IOS, NX-OS, Junos).
  • Industry server and network certifications (CompTIA, CCNA/CCNP, etc.).
