The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Saudi Steel Pipe Company's internal quality processes meet our customer's expectations by establishing methodologies, standards, and procedures for requirements analysis, test plan preparation, test procedure development and execution, and documentation of results and reporting.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and maintain quality work instructions, check sheets, and inspection records.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
- Develop process improvement plans using a variety of quality and continuous process improvement tools.
- Establish methodologies, standards, and procedures for requirements analysis, test plan preparation, test procedure development and execution, documentation of results and reporting.
- Prepare performance charts on various quality indicators, coordinate efforts towards continuous improvement.
- Train engineering and manufacturing teams on compliance requirements, procedures, and practices.
- Identify corrective and preventive actions and lead implementation of short-term and long-term corrective action.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions to problems.
- Coordinate quality efforts related to new production lines and components; quality improvement; and cost reduction.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance in the steel pipe industry or a similar field.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and API Q1.
- Strong familiarity with destructive and non-destructive testing specifications and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, acknowledge, develop, communicate, and implement a strategy to ensure compliance.
- Strong statistical analysis background (Six Sigma certification will be a plus).
- Experience with lean principles of standardization and proven ability to implement and sustain standardized processes.
- Ability to present data effectively in various formats; Word/Excel tables/PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong process improvement mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Experience with API Q1.
- Experience with API 5L Standard.
- Experience with material testing standards.
- ISO 9001 Lead auditor certification.
- Six Sigma black belt certification or Certified Quality Engineer.
