The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient, and sustainable mechanical systems.

  • Mechanical System Design:

  • Design and specify the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems.

  • Develop detailed mechanical system drawings, schematics, and calculations using design software.

  • Create system specifications, including equipment sizing, ductwork design, pump and pipe sizing, and system control requirements.

  • Ensure that mechanical systems meet the project's requirements, are energy-efficient, and comply with relevant building codes and standards.

  • Project Coordination and Management:

  • Lead the mechanical design and coordination process on multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring the integration of mechanical systems with other MEP disciplines.

  • Manage the mechanical aspects of projects from conceptual design through to commissioning and handover, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.

  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Technical Support and Problem Solving:

  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of mechanical systems.

  • Address any design or installation issues, recommending solutions and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

  • Conduct site visits to inspect the installation and operation of mechanical systems and ensure proper implementation of designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement mechanical systems in building projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2-3 years focused on the design and management of MEP systems in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy management.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Trane Trace, or similar tools.
  • In-depth understanding of local building codes, standards, and regulations related to mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address technical challenges in system design or installation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
