Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Buro Happold. As a key member of our MEP design consultancy, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and site supervision on large complex international projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
  • Review and monitor contractor's procedures and practices for health and safety, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Review and monitor contractor's shop drawings, materials, and method statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Record changes on site and review as-built drawings and submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor contractor's progress on site and provide regular updates to the project team.
  • Audit inspectors' work as part of site QA procedures to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Undertake detailed engineering design and prepare technical schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure that service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.
  • Ensure that appropriate service and design decisions are met, and that senior staff are kept informed of project progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or an equivalent degree.
  • Significant work experience in a design consultancy on large complex international projects.
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status with a relevant institution, e.g. CIBSE or IET.
