Application Architect

We are seeking a seasoned Application Architect to lead the modernization of our application architecture. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern application architecture principles and hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and secure systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing application architecture, identifying areas for improvement, modernization, and optimization.
  2. Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for application architecture modernization, outlining clear objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  3. Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to recommend the most suitable solutions for modernizing the application stack.
  4. Design robust, scalable, and secure application architectures, documenting architectural decisions, patterns, and best practices.
  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, security, and operations, to ensure architectural alignment and smooth implementation.
  6. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to development teams, promoting architectural best practices and fostering a culture of innovation.
  7. Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to enhance application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  8. Ensure that modernized application architectures comply with security standards, regulations, and industry best practices, proactively addressing security vulnerabilities.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to evolve and refine application architecture practices, keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Proven experience of 8+ years as an Application Architect, focusing on application architecture modernization.
  3. Deep understanding of modern application architecture principles, patterns, and best practices.
  4. Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  5. Proficiency in architecting and designing scalable, resilient, and secure systems.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct comprehensive architectural analysis and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  8. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with DevOps practices. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
