King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre seeks a seasoned pharmacy leader to assume the role of Director of Pharmacy Operations.
This key position plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management and coordination of pharmacy services across the hospital, including the implementation of medication safety initiatives, leadership of staff, and oversight of departmental operations.
Responsibilities- Assists the Director of Pharmaceutical Care in organizing and administering hospital pharmacy programs, ensuring timely communication and collaboration on all matters related to Pharmaceutical Care.
- Oversees the management and use of medication error information in assigned pharmacy sections, reviewing internal reports and utilizing external resources such as ISMP Medication Safety, MOH, and Saudi FDA to inform practice.
- Manages medication-error reporting, review, investigation, and data entry into databases, analyzing data to identify trends for process improvement and developing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Directs, administers, and coordinates pharmacy functions in designated areas, supervising key personnel to ensure completion of work assignments, adherence to policies, and effective use of resources.
- Participates in hospital committees focused on medication safety and adverse occurrences, contributing to the development of annual goals for medication safety improvement.
A Pharm D. or Master's Degree in Pharmacy, combined with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a tertiary care setting, is required. Four years of experience in a Senior/Supervisor or Managerial capacity in a large healthcare institution is also necessary.
