We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Planning Director to join our team at the Saudi Tourism Authority. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our tourism industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: Establish and manage the Planning & Operations Division's strategy, business plan, and roadmap to ensure alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Manage Cross-Functional Teams: Oversee the design and implementation of operational plans in support of the business unit's strategic plan and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  3. Lead Budgeting and Financial Planning: Manage the cross-divisional business unit annual budgeting cycle and process, ensuring effective utilization of resources and accurate reporting of progress and challenges.
  4. Identify and Mitigate Risks: Investigate and propose strategies to mitigate financial and operational risks, resulting in a positive financial impact for the Saudi Tourism Authority.
  5. Ensure Capacity Planning: Finalize budget requirements based on the business plan and obtain necessary approvals, ensuring sufficient capacity planning to support the implementation of the strategy and provide a world-class visitor experience.
  6. Develop Sales Targets: Finalize sales targets for the region, working with the commercial Center of Excellence to ensure alignment with the overall strategy.
  7. Lead Research and Analysis: Lead localizing research from various Centers of Excellence, feeding research data and output from within the region into the data warehouse for use across the Saudi Tourism Authority.
  8. Conduct Market Analysis: Ensure conducting proper research and analyze sources and destination markets, foresee market/segment sizing, and develop demand projections.
  9. Manage Sales and Distribution: Manage, monitor, and report on sales and distributions of various products in the respective geography.
  10. Track Consumer Response: Ensure tracking and reporting on consumer response to marketing campaigns across channels to inform future decision-making.
  11. Oversee Trade Operations: Oversee and report on trade operations and marketing activities performance against agreed KPIs set by the relevant Center of Excellence.
  12. Manage Projects: Manage and execute assigned projects under the supervision of the Project Management Office.
  13. Improve Policies and Procedures: Propose improvements to the business unit's Planning & Operations Division's policies, ensuring the implementation of procedures and controls across all areas of activity.
  14. Monitor Compliance: Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.
  15. Develop Subordinates: Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, taking into account leading practices, changes in the business environment, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
  16. Manage Direct Reports: Manage, guide, and assist direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.
  17. Recruit Key Talent: Participate in identifying and recruiting key talent for the Planning & Operations Division.
  18. Promote a High-Performance Environment: Promote a high-performance working environment embracing the Saudi Tourism Authority's values.
  19. Build Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain solid relations with external stakeholders, such as governmental entities and consultants, to serve the Saudi Tourism Authority's best interest.
  20. Provide Support: Provide assistance across the organization and support peers when needed to perform their duties.
  21. Approve Reports and Presentations: Approve reports and presentations related to Planning & Operations Division activities and achievements for reporting and decision-making.
Requirements
  1. Experience: At least 16 years of experience in business planning in the tourism/hospitality industry or other relevant fields.
  2. Education: A bachelor's degree in hospitality management or equivalent is required. A master's degree in business management, hospitality management & tourism, or equivalent is preferred.
