Responsibilities:- Install and manage updates, patches, and releases on our development, test, pre-production, and production environments.
- Manage and maintain complex systems with a mix of operating systems and applications.
- Implement and upgrade systems in compliance with security guidelines.
- Ensure the availability, security, and integrity of assigned systems.
- Monitor systems, set alerts, and troubleshoot or escalate issues as needed.
- Evaluate and identify ways to automate, streamline, and improve day-to-day maintenance and administrative practices.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements regarding application availability.
- Act as a central point of contact and liaison to other IT departments and vendors regarding installations, server maintenance, licensing, and upgrade issues.
- Participate in project meetings supporting business objectives with deliverables for Linux and/or Windows teams.
- Effectively manage communication between end users, vendors, and IT departments to solve production, pre-production, test, and environment problems quickly.
- Create and maintain accurate system run books for assigned systems.
- Maintain current descriptions and documentation of application configuration, including tracking and documenting any changes to environments.
- Assist in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning on assigned systems.
- Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including assisting with fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans.
- Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration or a related field.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Red Hat, and related technologies.
- Understanding of systems administration concepts, principles, and practices.
- Experience with monitoring and management tools to ensure required availability of assigned systems.
- Active Directory, TCP/IP networking protocols, DNS, and related technologies.
- Backup and recovery technologies, network and security concepts, and automation, monitoring, and testing.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking standards, protocols, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
- VMWare Virtualization software, Netbackup, EnterpriseVault, Data Insight, and Project/Quality Management.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer-Messaging (MCSE/MCSA/MCSE Messaging) or equivalent.
- RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Certified VMware Professional (VCP).
- Veritas Certified Professional (VCS).
- VEEAM Certified Engineer.
- Administering System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Planning and Deploying System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
