Job Description:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard accounting techniques and principles, ensuring accurate collation and compilation of project information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard accounting techniques and principles.
  2. Audit accounts, sub-jobs, and other financial information for completeness, accuracy, and legitimacy of charges, and conformance with accounting procedures.
  3. Generate and analyze periodic financial reports, making recommendations regarding the status of reserves and assets.
  4. Review draft billings for contract compliance and make necessary changes.
  5. Reconcile accounts receivable billed/unbilled schedules with job costs and revenue.
  6. Analyze accounts, compute standard ratios, and prepare standard financial statements.
  7. Prepare financial and statistical reports, including income and balance sheets.
  8. Prepare invoice recapitulations and advance funds requests.
  9. Maintain journals, general ledger, and subsidiary accounting records.
  10. Maintain expense controls and budget processes.
  11. Maintain and update project control and commercial trackers, ensuring that all data is current and accurate.
  12. Assist in the preparation of regular progress reports and presentations based on tracker data.
  13. Upload and manage project-related documents required for client approvals, ensuring all documentation meets the necessary standards.
  14. Perform other duties commensurate with functional level and responsibilities.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in any discipline (or equivalent) from an accredited institution/university is required.
  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience, including 3+ years of project control coordinator/accountant experience.
  3. Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Working knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) is preferred.
