Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to join our team at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Limited. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service in our public areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend a comprehensive training program to enhance your skills and knowledge in maintaining efficiency and providing exceptional service.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by being alert, well-informed about the hotel, and able to work during peak hours rapidly, maintaining a constant standard of performance.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of public areas, including the lobby, lifts, offices, function rooms, locker rooms, Food & Beverage outlets, corridors, backstairs, business center, etc.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, polishing, sweeping, and vacuuming all public areas and associate areas.
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of public areas, restrooms, associate locker rooms, air conditioning vents, walls, lamps, elevators, carpets, floors, and marble precisely according to trained and established methods.
  • Replenish and record consumption of public restroom supplies daily, assist guests in using the public restroom facilities, and practice courtesy towards guests at all times.
  • Adhere to Lost & Found procedures and report any lost items to the Supervisor.
  • Rearrange furniture layout whenever necessary to ensure optimal guest experience.
  • Empty litter bins and ashtrays regularly according to procedures.
  • Report any sickness or unusual behavior of guests to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and machines and store them in designated storage rooms after every use. Report any defects to the public area supervisor immediately.
  • Keep Public Area pantries and storerooms clean, tidy, and properly supplied at all times.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner under established company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to the rules & regulations established in the employee handbook and the hotel's policy on fire, hygiene, health & safety.
  • Report and rectify all potential and real hazards immediately.
  • Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate with a Hotel Management background.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a 5-star property in a similar capacity.
