Job Summary

Precision Hire Solution is seeking a highly skilled WHS Officer to join our team. As a WHS Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement site-specific WHS standards and guidelines.
  • Lead the implementation of site WHS objectives and programs.
  • Promote a safe culture among employees by providing regular WHS updates and training.
  • Perform regular site safety audits to identify non-compliance equipment and/or processes.
  • Work with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury.
  • Attend to incidents and occupational injuries on site.
  • Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations and communication of lessons learned.
  • Audit record-keeping practices and ensure compliance with global WHS standards and local regulations.
  • Manage the PPE inventory at site and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
  • Conduct Key Safety Requirement (KSR) audits and provide support.
  • Ensure basic Fire Fighting training and first aid training completion requirements.
  • Conduct daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock Release inspections and communications.
  • Monitor and support the Action Tracking System.
  • Participate in site management safety walks and provide insight into unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, KSR, ATS, network actions, etc.
  • Prepare WHS committee meeting agendas, MOM write-ups, and ATS creation.
  • Review and sign off on daily Permits to Work.
  • Lead on WHS related procurement and follow-up.
  • Prepare emergency response plans.
  • Manage and conduct emergency drills.
  • Manage preparation and training of emergency drills, prepare records.
  • Establish, monitor, and support Heat Index protocols.
  • Provide support to site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
  • Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits, such as hazard waste room inspections, spill kit inspections, first aid room inspections, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
  • Experienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates.
  • Experience in Worker's Compensation case management.
  • Analyzing and manipulating data.
  • Passion for safety.
