About the Role

You will be part of Hitachi ABB Power Grids' High Voltage Business based in Saudi Arabia. As a GIS Technical Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation, repair, and maintenance of high voltage systems worldwide. You will represent the company through your presence and technical knowledge, and will be the primary point of contact for clients at installation sites.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Installation and Maintenance: You will be responsible for installing and maintaining high voltage systems, ensuring that all work is carried out in perfect technical order.
  2. Independent Work: You will carry out installation and maintenance work independently, with minimal supervision.
  3. Compliance and Safety: You will ensure compliance with installation requirements and instructions, and will observe all necessary accident prevention measures.
  4. Documentation and Communication: You will be responsible for red-marking drawings or documents with any changes or modifications that become necessary during installation, and will advise sub-suppliers on planning and coordination of workforce.
  5. Project Management: You will cooperate with Hitachi ABB Power Grids' Project Manager on establishing the status of completed and non-completed work.
  6. Material Handling: You will inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage, and will coordinate material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers' Material Control.
  7. Quality Control: You will issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within Hitachi ABB Power Grids' scope of supply.
  8. Final Installation Tests: You will supervise final installation tests and Hitachi ABB Power Grids' installation completion documentation.
  9. Loop Check Activities: You will supervise and coordinate loop check activities.
  10. Site Meetings: You will participate in site meetings as requested by the Hitachi ABB Power Grids' Project Manager.
  11. Task Execution: You will be responsible for the competent execution of your tasks, and will carry out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfill the job requirements.

Your Background
  1. Education: You will require a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a high diploma.
  2. Experience: You will require a minimum of 8+ years of working experience with GIS, preferably in a similar role.
  3. Technical Skills: You will require experience with SF6 GAS-Handling, and knowledge of HE-CH GIS Products is preferred.
  4. Language Skills: You will require proficiency in both spoken and written English language.
