Project Planning and Controls Specialist

As a key resource for Hitachi Energy HVDC business, you will be based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and responsible for planning, scheduling, controlling, and monitoring customer-specific large-scale projects, such as the Saudi-Egypt HVDC Link. Your primary goal is to deliver accurate and thorough information about project status, including schedule, progress, planned, actual, forecast, resources, and productivity trends, and risks, to project managers and line managers in a timely manner.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Project Planning and Controlling team for one or more HVDC projects in the region.
  2. Contribute to the on-time delivery of projects.
  3. Drive collaboration between partners, stakeholders, and customers.
  4. Ensure close cooperation and coordination with internal and external stakeholders as a central contact person.
  5. Actively monitor and control project progress using Hitachi Energy policies and best practices to ensure customer requirements are met on time and in accordance with the contract.
  6. Ensure all projects are implemented and completed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental directives.
  7. Adhere to Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background:

  1. A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  2. 10+ years of experience in EPC project controls/management (EPC – engineering, procurement, construction).
  3. Certification or further education like PMI-PMP is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of MS Office and Primavera P6.
  5. Strong communication skills and pronounced customer orientation, as well as structured working methods and ability to work in a team.
  6. Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required; knowledge of Arabic is highly advantageous.
