JASARA PMC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an MEP Testing and Commissioning Engineer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and executing the testing and commissioning processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within various construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing and commissioning strategies for MEP systems to ensure project compliance with specifications and standards
  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing installations
  • Perform functional testing to ensure systems operate as designed, identifying any deficiencies or issues during the commissioning process
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to synchronize testing activities with project timelines
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of testing results, reports, and commissioning records
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to teams throughout the testing and commissioning phase
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT)
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and quality assurance protocols during testing and commissioning operations
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, timelines, and any issues affecting testing and commissioning efforts

  • System Testing and Performance Verification

  • Functional Testing: Perform functional tests on all MEP systems to ensure they operate as intended. This includes checking the start-up and operation of equipment such as air handling units (AHUs), electrical panels, pumps, valves, and fire protection systems.
  • System Adjustments: Adjust the systems as necessary to ensure they meet the required performance levels, such as airflow rates, temperature control, lighting, power supply, water pressure, and fire detection.
  • Performance Monitoring: Use various tools and instruments to measure and monitor system performance, ensuring that all systems perform according to design criteria, efficiency standards, and energy-saving requirements.
  • Commissioning Tests: Carry out commissioning tests as outlined in the commissioning plan. These tests include air balancing, hydraulic testing, electrical load testing, control system functionality tests, and others.
Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
6-10 years of experience in testing and commissioning of MEP systems in construction projects
Strong understanding of MEP systems and their operational functionality
Experience with testing and commissioning methodologies and best practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to MEP systems
Proficient in using testing tools and software to document findings
Knowledge of safety practices and quality standards in the construction industry
Pre-Commissioning Preparation
Review of Design and Specifications: Thoroughly review the design, specifications, and installation drawings of all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc. to understand the expected performance standards.
Verification of Installation: Ensure that the MEP systems have been installed according to design specifications, manufacturer's guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Documentation Review: Check that all necessary documentation, including installation manuals, equipment specifications, test procedures, and commissioning plans, are available and up to date.
Coordination with Other Teams: Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate commissioning activities and address any potential issues before commissioning begins.
