Roles and responsibilities

To be eligible to apply, you must meet the below criteria:

Should be a Saudi national.

Should have a bachelor's degree or above.

Should not have been employed or registered in GOSI for the last six months.

Should not have previously participated in the Tamheer program.

Performing Diagnostic Imaging Procedures
Operating Imaging Equipment: Using various diagnostic imaging equipment, such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, mammography equipment, and fluoroscopy machines, to capture images of patients' internal structures.
Positioning Patients: Properly positioning patients to ensure the correct angle and area are imaged, ensuring accurate and high-quality diagnostic results.
Ensuring Safety: Adhering to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and themselves, including using protective equipment such as lead aprons and shields.
Administering Contrast Agents: Administering contrast agents (e.g., barium, iodine-based contrast) for certain imaging procedures (e.g., CT scans or fluoroscopy) to enhance the visibility of internal organs or structures.
Patient Care and Communication
Explaining Procedures: Clearly explaining the imaging procedure to patients, alleviating any concerns or fears, and ensuring they understand the process.
Monitoring Patient Comfort: Ensuring patient comfort throughout the imaging procedure, helping them to remain still, as movement can distort the images.
Positioning Assistance: Assisting patients with positioning, particularly those who are immobile, injured, or in pain, while maintaining proper body alignment.
Addressing Patient Concerns: Addressing any questions or anxieties patients may have about the procedure and ensuring their safety and well-being during the imaging process.
Preparing Imaging Equipment and Rooms
Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that imaging equipment is functioning properly, performing routine checks, and troubleshooting minor technical issues. Radiologic technologists may also be responsible for performing equipment calibration and ensuring it is cleaned and sterilized after use.
Room Preparation: Preparing imaging rooms by setting up the necessary equipment and materials for the procedure. This includes ensuring that proper imaging contrast agents and positioning aids are available.

Desired candidate profile

Strong academic results.
Good command of the English, Arabic language.
Good experience MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Good Communication Skills.
Image Review and Quality Control
Evaluating Images: Reviewing images to ensure they meet the required quality standards for diagnostic purposes. If an image is unclear or incomplete, the radiologic technologist may need to retake it.
Identifying and Correcting Errors: Identifying any technical issues with the images, such as inadequate exposure, improper positioning, or artifacts, and correcting them to obtain clear and accurate diagnostic results.
Ensuring Image Storage: Ensuring that the images are properly stored in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) or other digital image management systems for future access by healthcare providers.
Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals
Working with Physicians: Communicating with physicians and radiologists to discuss the patient's medical history and any specific imaging needs. Radiologic technologists may also need to relay information about the procedure and share the images with radiologists for further analysis.
Collaborating with Other Staff: Working with other healthcare staff, including nurses and support staff, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and timely care.
Patient Records and Documentation
Documenting Procedures: Accurately documenting the imaging procedure in the patient's medical records, including details such as the type of imaging performed, the body area imaged, and any relevant patient information.
Following Protocols: Adhering to hospital or facility protocols for documentation, confidentiality, and patient safety, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
