Laser Technician

Support the Laser procedures through assistance and providing administrative task through a comprehensive laser skills with an utmost intention to aim the patients satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Adhere to all HMG policies including obtaining an invoice before the procedure.
• Refer any new patient to any Dermatologists for further explanation and securing consent.
• Refer patients to any Dermatologists for any problems encountered during and after the treatment.
• Communicate in a polite, accurate and timely manner. Should learn to respect the patient's decision.
• Prepare the patient before and after the treatment and to provide privacy.
• Responsible in giving health instruction regarding pre and post treatment.
• Monitor and report any machine and its accessories damages or any problems encountered anytime to her CN, HN including to the Bio-Medical engineers.
• Maintain confidentiality of all her patient's treatment specifically the patient's record.
• Book the client/ patient for the next appointment.
• Responsible with the after care of all used items.
• Complete all documentations once treatment been done including the parameters used clearly and accurately for reference.
• Orient and assist new staffs in the unit. Identify the limitation the new staff has and to be able to help develop her skills.
• Provide patient and family education as per need.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his work.

Education/ Professional Qualification

Diploma, preferably Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Laser Technology or equivalent

Experience

Two (2) Years of previous laser experience as a Laser Technician / Laser Staff Nurse is preferred.
Laser Equipment Proficiency:
Expertise in operating various types of laser devices, including those for hair removal, skin resurfacing, tattoo removal, and other aesthetic treatments.
Ability to calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laser equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of skin anatomy, laser physics, and how lasers interact with different skin types and conditions.
Knowledge of appropriate laser settings and adjustments based on patient needs and treatment objectives.
Safety and Compliance:
In-depth understanding of laser safety protocols to protect both patients and technicians.
Ability to follow and implement safety guidelines according to industry standards and regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, FDA, etc.).
Customer Service:
Excellent communication skills to explain treatments to clients, manage expectations, and address any concerns.
Compassionate and professional in delivering patient care, ensuring a positive experience throughout the treatment process.
Attention to Detail:
Strong observational skills to assess client skin types, conditions, and treatment progress.
Precise in adjusting laser settings, recording client history, and following treatment plans.
Record Keeping:
Accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patient preferences, outcomes, and follow-up schedules.
Team Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively with other aesthetic or medical professionals, such as dermatologists, nurses, or estheticians.
Willingness to learn from and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
