Engineer, Environment Iii

**Job Summary**:
Responsible for researching, testing, and developing solutions to environmental problems. Creates processes in relation to water and air pollution control, waste disposal, recycling, and public health issues.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review, prepare, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports.
- Create solutions to environmental problems.
- Build upon existing solutions to make them better.
- Conduct hazardous waste management studies.
- Evaluate significance of hazards and determine proper disposal and management methods.
- Advise on treatment and containment.
- Develop regulations to prevent catastrophes.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems.
- Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability.
- Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties.
- Develop proposed project objectives and targets, and report to management on progress in attaining them.
- Advise MWSPC and government agencies of procedures to follow in cleaning up contaminated sites in order to protect people and the environment.
- Advise industries and government agencies about environmental policies and standards.
- Inform company employees and other interested parties of environmental issues.
- Assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration.
- Develop site-specific health and safety protocols, such as spill contingency plans and methods for loading and transporting waste.
- Coordinate and manage environmental protection programs and projects, assigning and evaluating work.
- Design systems, processes, and equipment for control, management, and remediation of water, air, and soil quality.
- Prepare hazardous waste manifests and land disposal restriction notifications.
- Develop and present environmental compliance training or orientation sessions.
- Maintain, write, and revise quality-assurance documentation and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and manage plans and programs related to conservation and management of natural resources.
- Request bids from suppliers or consultants. Provide environmental engineering assistance in network analysis, regulatory analysis, and planning or reviewing database development.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Degree in Environmental 2 years’ experience in environment engineering and management in an oil refinery or petrochemical industry. Hands-on experience with different types of computer programs, including compliance software, analytical and scientific software, CAD technology and graphic imaging.

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
- Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good relationship building skills (internal and external)
- Strong work ethic and be able to adhere to company, policies, and standard business etiquette.
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills in English required,
- Self-starter with mínimal supervision for routine activities.
- Extensive computer skills in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) plus other software pertinent to the work performed would be advantageous.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and foster a cooperative team environment.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus.
- International work experience in remote camp environment.
