Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Fire Life Safety Engineer **to join our team

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Responsibility for Parsons’s Fire Life Safety Engineering for Qiddiya Infrastructure Delivery Partner (QIDP). Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all work meets Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) requirements in coordination with the works completed by other delivery partners. QIC is providing strategic direction for all partners in the three-way partnership with other partners on a city-wide basis. Reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Identifying possible fire-related risks and reducing or eliminating them
- Making designs, calculations, sketches and/or diagrams to help prevent fire or fire spread (‘fire strategy’)
- Incorporating fire safety procedures into designs - such as sprinkler systems, emergency exits and fire alarms - to minimize the risk of injury and loss of life in the event of a fire, considering both the structural integrity of the building and human behavior
- Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building
- Keeping up to date with regulations and legislation
- Using modelling software
- Visiting project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs
- Providing advice that feeds into decisions on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans and so on
- Preparing related reports.
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

**PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:

- Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline is required, with minimum 7 years’ experience in mega construction projects, specifically strong fire and safety experience across city-wide programs.
- Advantageous to have extensive experience of significant third-party stakeholder management, including statutory authorities in obtaining consents, permits and permissions.
- Safety Qualification / Awareness Training.
- Strong communication skills in English.

**SKILLS/COMPETENCIES**:

- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Proven experience of working within complex construction environment.
- Ability to work in and lead teams. Ability to follow through. Ability to clearly deliver work instructions in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with an influence senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.
- Ability to manage and work in a team, deliver objectives and targets.
- Strong Contractor Management skills.
