Head of Food Safety

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Leadership and Management**:
- Lead and manage a dedicated team across multiple locations including central kitchens and hospitals.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment, promoting professional development and continuous improvement among team members.
- Act as a primary point of contact for food safety issues and liaise effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- **Compliance and Standards Implementation**:
- Oversee compliance with food safety standards, including ISO 22000 and the Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve compliance protocols to ensure alignment with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections, ensuring that non-compliance issues are identified, addressed, and resolved efficiently.
- **Development and Enforcement of SOPs**:
- Develop, document, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food safety and quality control.
- Ensure SOPs reflect world-class standards and best practices, optimizing operational efficiency and efficacy.
- Train staff in SOP adherence and conduct periodic reviews and updates to SOPs to reflect changes in regulations and operational needs.
- **Quality Control and Assurance**:
- Design and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program across all food production and service areas.
- Monitor quality control processes and implement corrective actions to address deficiencies or potential risks.
- Utilize data and analytics to track performance and benchmark against industry standards.
- **Risk Management**:
- Identify potential risks in food safety and quality, developing strategic plans to mitigate these risks.
- Enhance preventive measures through regular risk assessments and scenario planning exercises.
- **Training and Development**:
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff to promote awareness and adherence to food safety principles.
- Ensure continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team to keep abreast of industry trends and innovations.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in food safety and quality control management, preferably in a healthcare or large-scale culinary environment.
- Proven track record in successfully implementing ISO 22000 and CBAHI or similar standards.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in diverse settings.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with team members and stakeholders.
