**Key Purpose**: - To collect, review, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, structural plans, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, flow diagrams, and material sampling Review computer-generated reports, and other matrices for single, multi-phase, or multi-site field inspection activities To survey the site using instruments, metering devices, and test equipment to perform inspections of moderate complexity and/or scope, including proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, construction, materials, controls, resources, layout, alignment, and elevation to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and construction regulations
Key accountabilities
- Ability to follow standard practices to provide technical assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper inspection, construction, and functioning of buildings, structures, infrastructure, equipment, and/or mechanical systems according to design standard specifications
- Act as advisor regarding work progress and problem resolution
- Serve as the only SME on a construction project
- Assist in overseeing construction inspection activities
- Review and advise on load calculations, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications
- Resolving differences in interpretation of plans and specifications when required
- Monitor project phasing plans and contractors' work to ensure quality control and contract compliance
- Attend pre-construction meetings when required
- Review technical reports summarizing inspection findings and conclusions
- Review the accuracy, and concise documentation using photographs, sketches, calculations, software, spreadsheets, technical drawings, flow diagrams, 2D/3D illustrations, and reports
- Advise technical staff, project managers, and contractors with risk identification and assessment
- Advise on input, analysis, escalation, or resolution with construction, mitigation, and improvement activities for more intricate and involved construction or engineering problems
- Provide expertise in the structural construction and engineering field, within major high rise and tall structures
- Select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the project objectives
- Proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices.
- Ability to extracts engineering information from CAD drawings
- Ability to prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
- Supervises field bench-scale, pilot-scale, sampling, and data collection activities
- Advise senior management on engineering related matters
- Working closely with other engineers, architects, planners, and construction manager teams -TD1

Specific requirements
Knowledge
15+ years of directly related experience and a minimum of 10 additional years of related work experience
Typically, incumbents have an advanced degree and 12 years or more of related experience

**Skills**:Good verbal and written communications in English
- Experience in high rise buildings, residences, offices, mixed use complexes

B. Sc. in Civil / Structural Engineering
