Senior Design Engineer

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs complex to difficult engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies advanced engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.- Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including manpower forecasts
- Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
- Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
- Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of complex to difficult engineering complexity
- Participate in people development through mentoring, development of training material, conducting training seminars, and performance appraisal input and counseling
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

**Basic Job Requirements**
- Strong Leadership Skill (Super Lead) - Most Project in FAL are FEED Phase, Proposal & Study- Well Familiar/Expert on Fluor Electrical QRS
- Willing to Train / Mentor Electrical Protégés
- Conduct Electrical Trainings (QRS, Lead-ship and Technical)
- Assist the E&I DM of Functional Activities (Back Up DM)
- Act as Electrical Lead Engineer for FEED and EPC projects on Oil, Gas and Infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with client and other discipline lead engineers.
- Supervise electrical engineers and designers.
- Should be able to write Electrical Design Criteria and Basis documents.
- Should be able to write Electrical Equipment Specifications.
- Should be able to size electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgears, MCCs, Generators, Capacitors, AC& DC UPS, etc.
- Should be able to do Substation Ground Grid Calculations and design.
- Should be able to check and evaluate ETAP calculations such as Short Circuit, Load Flow and Motor Stating, etc.
- Familiar with PIP Engineering Standards.
- Familiar with SABIC Engineering Standards.
- Familiar with Saudi Aramco Standards.
- Familiar with Saudi Building Code, HCIS and SEC standards.
- Familiar with International Standards.
- Familiar with Shell DEP

**Other Job Requirements**
- 15 years or above Fluor Experience
- Has 30 and above years of EPC Experience
- Minimum of 15 to 20 years experience on FEED and EPC projects.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years as Electrical Lead Engineer for FEED or EPC projects.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Professional registration and membership in technical society
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
- Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
- Managing and leading a large project
- Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out
- Practical field experience
