**Accountabilities**:
Department Operations:
Ensure the smooth functioning of the department, maintaining the organization’s reputation as a reliable healthcare provider.
Operate with a high degree of independence in investigating security incidents, analyzing their impact, and making risk-related decisions.
Manage project activities, including the development of project plans and budget/resource estimates.
Risk Management:
Lead the development and implementation of a system-wide risk management function for the information security program.
Assess and evaluate the adequacy of security controls for information and technology systems, providing recommendations to management.
Policy and Compliance:
Oversee the system-wide information security compliance program, ensuring IT processes meet defined requirements, policies, and regulations.
Develop and implement effective policies to secure protected and sensitive data, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS).
Manage audits and compliance checks, coordinating with internal and external auditors to address findings and maintain strong relationships.
Audit Coordination:
Collaborate with internal and external audit teams on required security assessments.
Track all IT and security-related audit timelines and outcomes, ensuring audits remain focused and within scope.
Problem-Solving:
Troubleshoot security risks in hardware, software, and systems, collaborating with IT and technology vendors for solutions.
Manage complex projects across multiple locations, identifying and implementing corrective measures as needed.
Contingency Planning:
Ensure Incident Response Plans (IRP), Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) are updated and tested regularly.
Work with process owners to maintain and promote the Business Continuity Management (BCM) program.
Provide training to relevant personnel based on an annual training calendar.

**Job Requirements
**Education
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in information technology or other related field

Experience
- 3-5 years of advanced IT skills with high level of information security experience, managing security projects.Expertise in Health Care or Retail Sector is Preferred

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of information local security risk management frameworks and compliance practices and securing network technologies, client, and server operating systems Understanding of common security standards and regulations relating to a higher education environment
- Experience responding to, analyzing, and communicating information security incidents
- Must be well versed with laws affecting the healthcare providers in the following areas such as (Data privacy / Security, Health Care / HL7 / HEPAA, Cyber Insurance, State Regulations)
- Information security related training or certifications such as CISSP or CRISC.
