**Responsibilities**
- Manage the customs clearance process for goods being imported and exported.
- Develop and implement systems to monitor and document the customs clearance process (e.g. documentation system, archiving systems) and to ensure proper documentation, filing for all necessary paperwork, obtaining documentation for each shipment, and maintaining records of all fines and detention operations and follow up with clients.
- Negotiate the best terms and fees with fright forwarders and custom clearance agencies for each shipment.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customs officials, and government agencies to ensure the timely clearance of goods.
- Provide advice and guidance on customs-related issues, and ensure that all shipments are cleared in a timely manner.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and other suppliers to ensure that goods are shipped in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and inform relevant parties, and audit shipments to ensure that all documents are complete and accurate, and that all shipments comply with customs regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in customs regulations and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure maintaining accurate records for all shipments, including documentation and payments.
- Review and analyze customs data to identify trends and optimize the clearance process.
- Manage the preparation and review of operations cost reports on a monthly basis with appropriate recommendations, and prepare other required reports related to the customs clearance department.
- Develop shipping plan and negotiate shipment agreements with fright forwarders and transportations agencies.
- Ensure coordination and follow-up with all relevant departments within the company regarding clearance and transport operations.
- Follow up the work of the bills drawing agents with shipping agents and shipping lines, as well as the financial procedures related to the transactions.
- Conduct regular visits to major clients and plan to attract new clients, and follow up on clients' financial position and assist in collection processes.
- Ensure proper use of the custom’s related systems (such as Fasah, E-Brokering), and update as required.
- Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principals.
- Accountable for leading, mentoring and team engagement.
- Providing direction, promoting collaboration and ensuring the team are enabled to achieve goals and objectives of the business
- Measure and monitor performance against critical criteria, policy and guidelines established by DP World
- Ensure compliance to DP World, Environment, Health, Safety, Security & IT policies and procedures.
- Understand and adhere to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
- Ensure adherence to DP World standards and policies.
- Ensure data security is maintained to protect the privacy and interest of clients and key stakeholders.
- Manage team of professionals and disseminating knowledge through continuous learning and development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.
**Qualifications**
- Masters / Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, International Business, or related field
- 6 - 8 years of proven experience in a customs clearance role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with customs software
- Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, including classification and tariff codes.
- Custom Clearance license
