Performance Improvement Specialist

Assumes responsibility for the planning, organization, facilitation and implementation of all phases of Performance Improvement (IP) activities. Coordinates the functions of the PI function as directed.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1.Develops PI plan in line with the Hospital's mission, vision and provision of services. Facilitates implementation of the PI plan.
2.Participates in the development and revision of policies and procedures of the section, curriculum for staff education and training on PI methodologies and tools in alignment with the PI plan.
3.Facilitates implementation of the monitoring process to measure PI activities outcome.
4.Collaborates with other sections under Quality Management (QM) in identifying areas of improvement and facilitates the efforts to implement the improvement.
5.Collaborates with Hospital’s entities, services, and Corporate Performance Office to identify areas for improvement and implement quality improvement initiatives.
6.Promotes a Hospital-wide awareness of PI and encourages participation and involvement of leaders.
7.Collaborates with department’s leaders in identifying areas for improvement and develops initiatives to address identified areas for improvement. Supports maintaining the Hospital as a high reliability organization.
8.Educates Hospital staff, including Senior Management and Medical staff on PI methodology.
9.Facilitates Hospital compliance with Performance Improvement (PI) related standards of national and international accreditations.
10.Facilitates the development and implementation of clinical pathways.
11.Participates in implementing quality management and quality improvement programs.
12.Participates in PI teams, committees and taskforces as assigned.
13.Provides specific PI related reports as needed.
14.Follows all Hospital policies and procedures.
15.Participates in self and others' education, training, and development, as applicable.
16.Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Education**:
Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Quality or other healthcare related discipline is required.
**Experience Required**:
Six (6) years of related experience with Master’s, including two (2) years at a managerial position or eight (8) years with Bachelor's Degree is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
- Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or any related Healthcare Quality certificate is required.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma and/ or other PI methodologies are preferred.
