**Key Purpose**:
Non-destructive testing (NDT) is an engineering science-based profession that requires competent Engineering Technicians to inspect materials, welds, components, and plant to verify their integrity without rendering them unfit for further service. The role involves technical advisory responsibility of NDT Operators and other junior staff within the organization
- To bridge the gap between knowing what needs to get done and knowing the most practical and economical way to accomplish that goal
- To advise on increased production and lower maintenance costs by their technical understanding of codes and regulations coupled with their experience and expertise in advanced inspection technologies and methodologies
- To advise on reduction in overall inspection durations by deploying the most practical and efficient inspection techniques to acquire the most relevant data.
- To advise on increasing the reliability and usability of that data.
- To provide recommendations and advise on procedural improvements
- To assist with project glossaries and help to understand the language and terms of the company

Key accountabilities
- Oversee, validate, and audit by re-inspection the work of NDT Operators, when required
- Ability including a complex method, such as ultrasonics, eddy current, radiography, or infrared thermography,
- Must be capable of Formula-based engineering and the scientific principles underpinning relevant current technologies
- Ability to prepare NDT Procedures, Technique Sheets and Work Instructions for use by NDT Operators
- Able to conduct limitations of standard tests and measurements relevant to their field of activity
- Ability to use the results of engineering NDT analysis for the purpose of developing solutions to well-defined engineering problem
- Ability to gather contextual information prior to the inspection required for the assessment of defects against acceptance/rejection criteria
- Ability to operate radiographic testing equipment, including x-ray machines and isotope exposure devices, in accordance with applicable regulations, codes, and procedures
- Ability to monitor and implement the QMS Procedures, PQP, ITP & method statements and reporting deviations from the management system and contractual requirements of the project when required
- Ability to inspect Annular Plates, Bottom Plates, Roof plates lying and fit up of bulk tanks when required
- Ability to Verify that all necessary inspections and tests, as required on the subsea pipes and cables is carried out as per statutory regulations, are carried out and appropriate records are updated and maintained
- Coordinating quality activities with subcontractors and any other individual parties who may be working on the same site
- Coordination with clients and third party Inspection, in accordance with approved ITP, for agreed witness of inspections & tests
- Advise on timely control of Weld Defect / Rejection rates and Repair actions / penalty stat

Specific requirements

Knowledge
- Should have advanced skills in NDT methods substantiating their lead competency role within the Onshore / Offshore / subsea sector,
- Able to work in ALL sectors
- Must be able to analyze engineering problems, selecting and using mathematical and theoretical data to provide suitable NDT solutions with consideration of the entire inspection cycle.
- Must have minimum 9 plus years of overall working experience in oil & gas sector
- Must have a minimum 4 years of QA/QC roles in relevant industries

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of NDT inspection techniques - Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic particle Testing, Radiography Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Phase Array Ultrasonic Testing, & Tube testing techniques (ASNT or PCN

Certificates preferred)
- Inspection in Pressure vessel and piping

Qualification
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Engineering or Material Science) or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience excluding level 2.
Diploma (Engineering or Material Science) or equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience excluding level 2 ASNT NDT LEVEL 3, PT, ET, UT & RT NAS 410 /EN4179 3, PT, ET, UT & RT PCN/AERO Level 3, PT, ET, UT & RT
- Certified API 510,API 570,API 653,API 571,API 936 is required
- Welding Inspector Certificate CSWIP 3.1 is required
