- The Service Technician will be responsible for the refurbishment of mechanical seals and associated activities in a highly professional seal repair environmentDuties & Responsibilities

**Responsibilities**:

- Dismantling and cleaning of mechanical seals and parts under repair.
- Inspection of mechanical seals and seal cartridges.
- Prepare breakdown of parts required for the repair in accordance with the seal repair analysis procedures.
- Assemble and repair mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specifications including locally manufactured metal parts, repaired metal and non-metal parts when needed.
- Testing of mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane specifications.
- Manage local inventory of seal spares for both contractual and transactional repairs.
- Ensures quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by himself/herself and staff reporting to him/her
- Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization
- Ensures compliance with the applicable HSE instructions, requirements, laws and regulations received from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies
- Knowledge of seal failure modes is an advantage

The Individual

**Skills and Responsibilities**:

- Diploma or University degree in Engineering or relevant vocational technical qualification
- 3+ years of professional experience in proactive multinational & multicultural environment
- Ability to understand component and assembly drawings.
- Lapping and polishing knowledge.
- With 5 years’ experience machining - lathe, drill etc.
- Knowledge of John Crane product portfolio.
- Computer literate in MS Office. SAP knowledge will be an advantage.
