Mep Engineer

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
**The MEP Engineer is responsible for the onsite supervision and management of the electro-mechanical works on the Riyadh Metro project.**:
**Working as part of the Construction team, the MEP Engineer will be responsible for making decisions that will have an impact on the resource requirements, scope, schedule, risk profile, quality, health and safety, and financial performance of the project.**:

**Reporting directly to the overall T&C Resident Engineer, the main focus of this role it to provide knowledge and skills related to the mechanical/electrical/plumbing aspects of the project site. Responsible for the implementation and overseeing of MEP testing and commissioning activities.**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following**:
**- **Advising the Assistant Resident Engineers (AREs) and Resident Engineers (REs) of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, e.g. quality or snagging**:

- **Reviewing MEP system and equipment related construction documents and auditing contractors and subcontractors’ deliverables for quality and adherence to specifications, budgets and schedules**:

- **Liaising and attending coordination meetings with client, contractors, consultants, construction manager and other key at the sites of construction to solve technical issues and other related matters**:

- **Undertaking general project site observation and inspections of the mechanical services works for contractor’s adherence to the approved shop drawings and client’s specification, good working practices and construction schedule**:

- **Reviewing all aspects of site preparation and temporary works construction onsite for conformance with contract documents**:

- **Enforcing the relevant safety rules at site and monitoring all aspects of the work for compliance with security, health and safety requirements**:

- **Taking part in risk workshops and reporting any risks associated with MEP installations**:

- **Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to MEP services and helping to resolve any program delays**:

- **Monitoring progress of the work for verification of progress payments and schedule**:

- **Conducting daily briefing with site team leaders to follow-up and report on the work progress in order to anticipate any possible delays with regards to planned tasks**:

- **Taking immediate corrective action to avoid any cumulative effect of such deviation and recover the delay to finish the task in due time**:

- **Assisting the Project Manager in the supervision and management of construction activities to assigned project**:

- **Assisting in the planning and sequencing of the construction operations according to the Project Quality Plan**:

- **Conducting regular inspections and assess the work performance done by all subcontractors**:

- **Evaluating and resolving any discrepancies and problems arising during construction which affect the quality of works performed**:

- **Helping to prepare the MEP section of the monthly progress reports**:
**Skill Set**:
**Essential**:

- **Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering**:

- **Minimum 5 years post graduation relevant experience on large civil projects**:

- **Demonstrable experience of working in a MEP site role**:
**Desirable**:

- **Experience of working in the GCC**:

- **Rail, metro or related project experience**:
