Hse Officer

**Relocation to Saudi Dammam.**

**Job Purpose**:
The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems within the food manufacturing environment. This includes promoting a safe and healthy work environment, identifying potential hazards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and working to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental impacts.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Health & Safety Compliance**:
Monitor and enforce compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and industry best practices in food production and related operations.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify risks and hazards, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.
- **Risk Assessment**:
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for various processes, activities, and machinery in the food production plant.
Ensure that proper risk control measures and safe work procedures are in place.
- **Safety Training**:
Organize and conduct safety training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
Ensure employees are trained on food safety protocols, emergency procedures, and safe operational practices.
- **Incident Investigation**:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Maintain a record of incidents and safety performance metrics.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:
Keep up to date with local and international HSE regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant laws (e.g., OSHA, environmental standards, food safety regulations).
Prepare and submit reports for regulatory bodies as required.
- **Emergency Response**:
Develop, implement, and review emergency response plans (e.g., fire drills, food contamination incidents, chemical spills) and ensure that all employees are familiar with procedures.
Oversee and participate in emergency drills and exercises.
- **Waste Management & Environmental Safety**:
Ensure compliance with waste management regulations, including safe disposal of food production waste and hazardous materials.
Monitor and improve environmental safety practices within the plant, focusing on minimizing the environmental impact of food production.
- **Health Monitoring**:
Support employee health and wellness programs, particularly as related to hygiene, ergonomics, and other food-related health concerns.
Oversee regular health checks as part of food safety protocols (e.g., hygiene, illness prevention).
- **Reporting & Documentation**:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including risk assessments, training records, audit reports, and incident logs.
Provide regular HSE performance reports to management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

**Key Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Educational Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
NEBOSH or OSHA certification is highly preferred.
- **Experience**:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
Proven experience in safety auditing, accident investigation, and risk management.
- **Skills**:
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000), and emergency response protocols.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in food production.
Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
