**Job Purpose
In keeping with the mission of the QI & PS Department and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital, this position reports to the Manager Continuous Improvement Unit of the QI&PS and will provide direct link between the QI&PS Department and front line staff for implementation and monitoring of the Quality Improvement, Patient Safety & Risk management programs including a Readiness for Accreditation and compliance to regulatory standards such as JCI, CBAHI, MOH and others.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Facilitates, monitors, educates, conducts, and coordinates Joint Commission Accreditation and Reaccreditations.
- Implements Continuous Improvement Initiatives including;
- New Quality Management System;
- Disease Management Program;
- Patient Safety Walk Rounds Program
- this involves, among other things, analyzing and reporting on clinical practices, processes, error reporting and the environment from the perspective of patient safety;
- Clinical Indicators (working towards Data Warehouse/Balanced Scorecard);
- Sentinel Events and Root Cause Analysis as per Sentinel Events Guidelines;
- Training for Quality Improvement Initiatives and FOCUS PDCA (System Improvement Methodology) Projects
- with a view to the next stages; FMEA and 6 Sigma;
- Reviews and investigates Mortality and Morbidity rates with reference to PCI’s;
- Facilitates the implementation, analyzes, reports, and reviews the effectiveness of the various initiatives and recommends, implements further improvements (Continuous Improvement Cycle).
- Responsible for recommendations regarding annual review/revision within all KAAUH Quality Improvement programs/ activities, databases, indicators, etc.
- Training: Assists in training staff from various KAAUH Departments in areas of Quality Improvement, Quality Improvement programs, records requirements, techniques of continuous quality management and other related areas as assigned.
- Conducts Quality Improvement workshops as appropriate and as directed by the Director of the Department
- Conducts Orientation for QI&PS system training for all new KAAUH staff.
- Participates in area wide mini focus studies to be undertaken in conjunction with the department and other KAAUH departments.
- As assigned by the Director, coordinates QI Activities with other Affairs to maximize staff expertise in the area of Quality Management.
- Facilitates the preparation of monthly quarterly reports regarding the KAAUH QI, PS & RM Programs.
- Provides day-to-day operational support to KAAUH as assigned in terms of utilization reviews, retrospective monitoring, committee and QIPS team assignments, referral of identified issues or concerns to appropriate department(s) or areas etc.
- Attends QI Committee meetings as assigned.
- Reviews, facilitates, and develops APP, IPP.
- Respects patients and their families to promote for a Patient-Centered Care culture.
- Participates in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

**Job Qualifications and Experience**

**Minimum or Required**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Administration or Healthcare profession (i.e. Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Hospital Administration) in which 2 years minimum experience should be in a 300+ bed capacity hospital in Quality Improvement. with 2 years of **Experience.**:

- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent.

**Preferred**:

- Master’s degree in Administration or Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety or relevant science. No Experience Required
